Founded in a Tauranga garage in 1987, the Kiwifruit Triathlon Club was formed by a bunch of triathlon mad mates.

By 1988, the first committee was born and triathlon had a voice in the community.  Fast forward to 1993 and the club became an Incorporated Society. In 2001, the members voted to change the name to Triathlon Tauranga Incorporated.  The name remains and through the years the club has had many world champion athletes, but the club will always be remembered by the great events that the area hosts, many of which are still on the events calendar.

The club has always had great club membership made up of youth, beginner & elite athletes. With this we have always represented the wider BOP region when competing nationally or worldwide.
