    1) BayPark arena, Truman Rd, Tauranga.
    2) Kartsport, Go Kart TRack in Te Puke.

    Most frequent questions and answers

    Registration will take place on Sunday morning of the race at both venues. We ask that you arrive early so we can start the races on time.

    This registration will take place in the race HQ trailer near the finish-line. Please phone the Race Director – 027 2705300 if you have any difficulties on race morning.

    Adults/Youth Long Course

    • Run 2km – 4 laps of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 9.6km – 6 laps of the 1.6km lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 1km – 2 laps of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 9.6km – 6 laps of the 1.6km lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run  2km – 4 laps of the 500m lap.

     

    Adults/Youth Short Course 

     

    • Run 2km – 4 laps of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 9.6km – 6 laps of the 1.6km lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 2km – 4 laps of the 500m lap.

     

    Kids Course

    • Run 500m – 1 lap of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 2.6km – 4 laps of the rectangular lap
    • Run 500m, 1 lap – 1 lap of the 500m lap

    Adults/Youth Long Course options (depending on numbers)

    Option 1 – small numbers of athletes

    • Run 2km – 2 laps of the 1km lap.
    • Bike 7km – 10 laps of the 700m lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 1km – 1 lap of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 7km – 10 laps of the 700m lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 2km – 2 laps of the 1km lap.

    Adults/Youth Short Course 

    • Run 2km – 2 laps of the 1km lap.
    • Bike 7km – 10 laps of the 700m lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 2km – 2 laps of the 1km lap.

     

    Adults/Youth Long Course options (depending on numbers)

    Option 2 – large numbers of athletes

    • Run 1km – 2 laps of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 5km – 7 laps of the 700m lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run 500m – 1 lap of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 5km – 7 laps of the 700m lap containing many turns & straights.
    • Run to the finish – 50m

    This option would be run as a heats & final, so there would be no short course, as all the racing is short course.

    Kids Course

    • Run 500m – 1 lap of the 500m lap.
    • Bike 2.1km – 3 laps of the kart track
    • Run 500m – 1 lap of the 500m lap
    • You MUST attend the race briefing on the day, 10 minutes before your race.
    • If we have large numbers of athletes for the Te Pauke course, we will have to use option 2, as the kart track will have a limit of bike able to be on the track at once, to help keep the riding safe & we can split the athletes into grades.
    • Please have your upper torso covered at all times during the race.
    • Your bike must have a seat & not be an E-Bike.
    • Please wear covered shoes at all times during the race.
    • Please wear a helmet at all times during the bike section of the race.
    • Kids course transition area will open after the last bike has completed the bike leg.  
    • Turn up to race hard & have FUN.
    • 8:30am Registration opens
    • 8:35am Transition area opens 
    • 9:00am Kids Distance race briefing
    • 9:10am Kids Distance Start
    • 9:30am Long & Short Distance race briefing
    • 9:35am Long & Short Distance start
    • Prizegiving Kids – Once Long/Short course have started
    • Prizegiving Long/Short – 10 min after last finisher 

    All entries are taken on the day at the Triathlon Tauranga trailer.

    Please bring cash or be prepared to do a bank transfer into the Triathlon Tauranga bank account as we don’t have access to EFTPOS.

    There are NO Age Group merit prizes. 

    There will be many fantastic spot prizes at the event. Prize-giving will be held approx 10 minutes after the last athlete has crossed the finish line. Numbers will be picked at random. You MUST be present to receive your prize.

    We will hold the prize-giving for the Kids race straight after they have all finished racing. This will take place before the Adults race starts.

    There are No Age Group merit prizes, just spot prizes for everyone.
